I did exactly the same thing when I reset the iphone my husband gave me. but it's been days already - though i see the apple logo on and off. my husband told me that the former owner has about 5,000 songs in it. do you think it will take that long to erase all the songs? i need help. thank you.

If the phone restarts b itself, that means it has completed the resetting. My iPhone 3g with 16GB took more than one hour to reset please follow the instructions in post which have given a link above.
